Russian aid to Abkhazia in the past 10 years amounted to 44 billion rubles, Russian Deputy Minister for the North Caucasus Igor Koshin said.

"The total amount of financial assistance provided to Abkhazia, which has been received from the Russian budget for the last ten years, is equal to 44 billion rubles," said Koshin, speaking at the ninth Abkhaz-Russian business forum in Sukhumi.

The amount of free aid to Abkhazia is growing, he said.

"In 2016 it amounted to 5.8 billion rubles, in 2017 - 6.9 billion rubles, in 2018 - about 8.6 billion rubles were allocated from the Russian budget for Abkhazia," the Deputy Minister of the Russian Federation for North Caucasus clarified.
